Michael has a decade of experience working across public, private and third sector communications and marketing.
His most recent role was in leading all external and internal engagement at the Scottish SPCA, one of Scotland’s largest charities. Michael executed campaigns on pressing animal welfare issues and played a leading role in successful fundraising appeals. He also contributed heavily to the SSPCA’s public affairs activity. Under his leadership, the team won ‘In-House PR Team of the Year’ at the 2021 CIPR PRide Awards in Scotland.
Prior to this, Michael worked in corporate communications for a large agency. He managed accounts covering areas such as property, renewables, legal and professional services. Clients included Deloitte, Vattenfall, Blackadders, Get Living, and Avison Young.
In the public sector, Michael has worked in local government and formed a part of the team which ran the event to open the Queensferry Crossing on behalf of Transport Scotland.
Michael was runner-up in the Outstanding Young Communicator category at the 2021 CIPR Pride Awards.
