We’ve fostered an incredible culture at Muckle Media. Our team is open, friendly, always willing to lend a hand, and the true meaning of a collective. We work together to get the best results for our clients and always lend a helping hand. We’re not hierarchical, we’re a team and we work together, always.
Our values are important to us, it’s how we recruit, the foundation of our culture, and helps us decide what clients are right to work with. Be kind. Get results. Leave the world in a better place.
As Scotland’s first PR agency to be B Corp Certified, we know the importance of making a difference. From making sustainable changes, to our hybrid working policy which cuts down on travel impact, through to our carbon offsetting programme, Green Champion and sponsoring a local youth football club.
We know how important work-life balance is, for everyone. We trialled a 4 day working week. A huge success, it’s now part of our permanent offering and something our team loves. It’s also important to us to offer flexible working. Whether it’s children, pets, family, or life admin, we could all do with some flexibility with our working hours. We’re proud to offer truly flexible working to allow our team a healthy work life balance. Whether it’s our ‘work from anywhere’ policy or our flexibility with hours, we trust our team to get their work done in hours that suit them.
We want our team to take time off, ready to come back reinvigorated and refreshed. That’s why we introduced an annual 8 week holiday allowance.
We’re transparent about our pay scales and want our team to know we value them, showing them this through competitive pay and our fantastic benefits.
We are proud to be a Living Wage Scotland and Living Hours accredited employer. This means our team is paid a real living wage and we provide our staff with the security and stability of hours they need to meet their everyday needs.
With many of our senior team having children themselves, we know how challenging balancing parenthood and work can be. We offer a competitive maternity package, from a pre-baby bonus of one month’s salary paid ahead to help with the costs of preparing for baby arriving, to 100% salary during the first eight weeks and 50% the following 12. We also offer an additional two weeks paternity leave on full pay.
It’s important to us that our team have fun. If the last few years have taught us anything it’s that we need to live in the moment. We invest in a monthly team day, bringing the team from our four offices together for anything from whisky tastings to adventure days.
We want to help our team achieve their goals. We want to know where they want to be in one, three, five years’ time, and work with them to create a plan to achieve it. We offer training for all of our team, with a mix of in-house and external training, as well as memberships to key bodies such as the CIPR, PRCA, Marketing Society and Scotland Food & Drink. All aimed at allowing our team to develop, upskill and gain confidence.
Our office spaces reflect our agency. They’re dynamic, forward thinking and, if we do say so ourselves, pretty cool. Between the free beer, cider and fizz after 3pm, in-house baristas, dog-friendly spaces, and stunning views, it’s a great place to work.
Our team is: open, honest, reliable, trustworthy, friendly, always there for a chat, happy to give a helping hand, not bothered about status but instead about getting the job done, not afraid to let their hair down and have fun, sociable, always up for a laugh, committed, ready for a challenge, welcoming. And that’s how we recruit.
We don’t just look at the skills people have, we look at the person who would be joining our team and determine whether they would be the right fit for our agency.
We hire people. And if you’re aligned with our values we’d love to speak to you.
